In light of the recent happenings to Fabrice Muamba, the entire footballing nation became united as one and prayed for his recovery. These prays are in the course of being answered, and it's really heart warming to see the mass rounds of applause taking place up and down the country. At times like these, football doesn't matter and we all get some perspective and realise, it's just a game.
However, in the midst of the travesty, some people see an opportunity. An opportunity to seek attention and divert the attention onto themselves and away from Muamba. Making silly and stupid comments, makes people hate you, but they get that needed attention that they were neglected as a child.
It's just so frustrating to see people on twitter voicing their very wrong opinions that Muamba deserved to die, when he is a role model in the game. Despite not being the most talented of footballers, he gives his all for his club, and at young age it would have been outrageous to lose such a young man. You have to praise such medics and the team who worked 78 minutes to revive him, after technically being dead. One can only hope that such medical brilliance is around if anything was to happen to any one of us.
Remarkably, some scum had the bottle to bring in Muamba's race. Who cares what colour he is, it makes him no less of a man and by pointing out and mocking him for his race only makes you less of a man. It was refreshing to see that the police took some action and arrested someone for his comments about Muamba, deservedly so and I hope they lock him up and throw away the key.
The impact on the football world has been impressive. You could see both sets of players visibly upset after what happened on field, and both sets of crowd chanting Fabrice Muamba's name was incredible. Football rivalry doesn't matter when it comes to life and death. Also, special mention to Howard Webb who rightly called the game off, it takes a big man to stand up in that situation and take charge.
In the face of adversity, the scum are going to crawl out of there pathetic shell of a life and be controversial. I'd like to see those people voice their opinions openly in public, as opposed to sitting at home typing angrily at the keyboard with a tinpot on their head as they prepare for hurls of abuse. Why do it? Why be different? Stand with the rest of us, as we pray for that young man a miraculous recovery.
My next moan: Smokin' hot
